Pure Fuel founder and manager Chef Bill Bailey is a runner with a Bachelors of Science degree in Nutrition and Hospitality Management. He has worked in the restaurant industry for more than 20 years. He started running in 2006.
Bill has worked as the head chef and as the corporate chef for several well-known companies. He started running trails and ultra distance races in 2007. Chef Bill has been featured in Northeastern Ohio Magazine, the Akron Beacon Journal, and Cheers Beverage Magazine. He is serve safe certified and has taught classes on safety and sanitation, and he gets hungrywhen he runs.
Running partner, friend and Pure Fuel co-founder Vince Rucci watched Bill cut energy bars into small pieces to eat on trail training runs. Vince casually asked one day why Bill didn't make his own bar.
Chef Bill went right to work, researching, testing, refining, tasting, and finally creating an energy bar using only the best ingredients; steel cut oats, brown rice syrup, flax seed oil and agave nectar. Creating an energy bar that not only met his tough standards, but also provides real fuel and energy to athletes.
